New York State Route 96B is a state highway in the western part of New York, USA. NY 96B is a north-south roadway in the Finger Lakes District of New York.
This highway connects the City of Ithaca in Tompkins County to the Village of Candor in Tioga County. The northern end in Ithaca, links to New York State Route 13, New York State Route 34, and New York State Route 96. At the south terminus in Candor, NY 96B rejoins NY-96.
NY 96B occupies Aurora Street south of Prospect Street in Ithaca. North of Prospect, Aurora Street continues north as an unnumbered city street, bordering the east end of the Ithaca Commons, a pedestrian mall. In 2007, the section of Aurora Street near the Commons underwent construction to widen the sidewalks, install new curbs, and repair the bridge over NY 79 and Six Mile Creek.
