[edit] Route description

The connector begins at the southbound Adirondack Northway Exit 22 in the town of Lake George. At the beginning, there is a Park and Ride for motorists to use. The connector heads eastward, crossing over the Northway and interchanging with U.S. Route 9 in the eastbound direction. The northbound turn off at this interchange heads north to Warrensburg while the southbound turn off heads south to the village of Lake George. The connector then heads through wooded areas before terminating at a traffic light for State Route 9N. Here, there are signs for the Northway and Autoroute 15, which is over 100 miles (160 km) north to the connector.

[edit] History

When the Adirondack Northway was constructed in the mid-1960s as a connector from Albany to the Expo '67 in Montreal, Quebec, the connector was the end of the Northway, until the rest between Lake George and Keeseville were built.[2] The rest of the Northway was completed in 1967.[3] When reference routes developed their current system around the state of New York, the connector was given the designation of unsigned New York State Route 912Q.[4]
