[edit] Route description
Route 37B begins at an intersection with its parent route, NY 37, in Louisville. Route 37B heads to the northeast, parallelling its old alignment to the north, with NY 37 parallelling to the south. The highway passes homes and businesses in Louisville. There are small patches of trees along the way, and before entering the village of Massena, it intersects with County Road 43. As Route 37B enters Massena, businesses begin to grow along the highway. The highway then goes completely eastward, known as Maple Street.[2]
In downtown Massena, Route 37B intersects with the northern terminus of New York State Route 420 while progressing eastward. It turns to the southeast, becoming known as Center Street as a divided highway. The route continues as a divided highway until crossing over a bridge as Parker Avenue. After crossing a river, Route 37B becomes known as East Orvis Street at an intersection in Massena. The route progresses to the northeast, passing homes and businesses for most of its length. After changing names to Highland Road, Route 37B merges into its parent route and terminates.[2]
[edit] History

Route 37B was assigned over a former alignment of its parent route, NY 37.[3] The highway that it orignally assigned to is now New York State Route 131, which parallels to the north. The route has remained intact ever since.
