New York State Route 185 (NY 185) was a short state highway located in the northern part of New York, USA. This highway was an east-west route and was entirely within St. Lawrence County. The western terminus of NY 185 was at NY 37 in the town of Hammond. The eastern terminus was at Brasie Corners–Rossie Road in the hamlet of Rossie, located within the town of Rossie.

NY 185 was assigned in the 1930s. It remained unchanged until 1980 when the 185 designation ceased to exist. It was removed from the state highway system two years later as part of a highway maintenance swap between New York State and St. Lawrence County. The path of NY 185 is now part of County Route 3.

[edit] History

NY 185 was assigned in the early to mid-1930s to a spur connecting NY 37 to the hamlet of Rossie.[3] It remained unchanged until April 10, 1980, when the designation was removed.[2] Two years later, on September 1, 1982, maintenance of the former routing of NY 185 was transferred from New York State to St. Lawrence County as part of a large highway maintenance swap between the two levels of government.[4] All of former NY 185 is now part of County Route 3.[1]
