The New York State League was an independant baseball league that operated in the state of New York. The league consisted of four teams representing four different cities. All games were played at Murnane Field in Utica, New York.
It was announced on July 19, 2007 that the league would be ending operations in Utica as of Friday, July 20, 2007. Lack of attendance was cited as the reason. The league moved more than 40 players to higher classifications after its suspension. The NYSL announced on July 27, 2007 it would play its 2008 season in New York City.[1]
