New York Military Affairs Symposium

NYMAS, the New York Military Affairs Symposium is an independent, not for profit educational body. The membership includes scholars, active and retired military personnel, and concerned civilians. NYMAS is devoted to increasing public knowledge, awareness and understanding of military history, arms control, international relations, defense policy, disarmament, civil-military relations, international security, veterans affairs and the interrelationship of war, society and culture through the presentation and dissemination of diverse scholarly viewpoints.

NYMAS presents approximately forty lectures in two semesters each academic year. These are given by scholars, journalists, active and retired military people and knowledgeable laypeople.

NYMAS prides itself on including individuals from all points on the political spectrum. The organization strives to show mutual respect to all positions within an academic setting.

NYMAS meets Friday nights at 7:00PM., during the academic year at the CUNY Graduate Center at 365 Fifth Avenue in New York, NY.

NYMAS is a tax exempt, not-for-profit membership corporation chartered under the laws of New York State.

This group is for members and attendees of the New York Military Affairs Symposium to further discuss topics presented in lectures and other items of interest.

It is also a means to network and schedule get-togethers between NYMAS meetings.
