New York Eye and Ear Infirmary

The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary was founded on August 1, 1820 by Edward Delafield and John Kearney Rodgers, both graduates of the New York College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Originally called the New York Eye Infirmary, it was expanded to its full name in 1864 although it had treated both eyes and ears since its founding. It is associated with the New York Medical College.
William Few was the first President of the Infirmary Board from 1821 to 1828
It was originally located at 20th st and Third Avenue. In 1872, it moved to 23rd st and Third Avenue. It is presently located at 310 East 14th Street on the corner of Second Avenue.
