The New York Clippers softball franchise played only one season (1977) in the American Professional Slow Pitch League before folding. Their home games were played at Memorial Stadium in Mt. Vernon, New York. Games were played with a 300 foot fence, which produced many high scoring games. Some of the players on that 1977 team were Larry Chiapetta, Mike Foley, Gary Richter, Steve Shurina, Mike "The Machine" Melillo, and Big Jim Galloway. Mike Foley hit 32 Home Runs for the Clippers in 1977, while Jim Galloway homered 26 times.
