New York City Department of Environmental Protection

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection is responsible for managing the natural resources and environment of New York City. The Department is responsible for managing the New York City water supply system and the quality of drinking water, wastewater treatment and air, noise and hazardous materials. NYC DEP also has it own police force, the NYC DEP Police, to protect all the reservoirs and other infrastructure.
Emily Lloyd is the commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection.
