The 23rd District was centered in the Mohawk valley in the 1990s (only Madison County stayed in the 23rd) and was the Capital District seat during the 1980s. During the 1970s it encompassed lower Westchester and part of the north Bronx. In the 1960s the district was entirely in the Bronx.
The North Country district was numbered the 24th District in the 1990s, the 26th District in the 1980s and the 30th District in the 1970s.
[edit] Election results
Note that in New York State electoral politics there are numerous minor parties at various points on the political spectrum. Certain parties will invariably endorse either the Republican or Democratic candidate for every office, hence the state electoral results contain both the party votes, and the final candidate votes (Listed as "Recap").
