New World Tower

New World Tower is a building in downtown Miami, Florida. Although not one of the tallest buildings in the city, its proximity to Biscayne Bay gives it a prominent place in photos looking west of the Miami Skyline. When it was built in 1965, the building was the tallest building in Miami, Florida in. It retained that status until 1971, when the SunTrust International Center, also in Miami, was built and was taller. The tower is 369 ft (124 m) tall, and contains 30 floors. It is located on Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 3rd Street, on the eastern edge of the Central Business District. The first floor contains retail space, Floors 2-4 of the building house a telecom data center, while floors 5-30 are used for commercial office space. The building was purchased in December 2006 by an affiliate of Panther Real Estate Partners.
