New World Telecommunications Limited (NWT) offers broadband, IP telephony, VPN, IPLC, as well as local and international voice services, for its customers and business partners in Hong Kong, Greater China and beyond. It was established in 1995, and is a member of New World Development Company Ltd.[1]
NWT has evolved from a traditional telecom carrier into a provider offering customer-focused communications solutions, digital media, and managed services. In 2007-2008, it plans to focus on three business streams - telecom services, ICT services and iMedia solutions (e-business). NWT plans to use its partnerships with 'renowned companies' to push its “NWT Hosted Exchange” and “Search’n Click” services. [2]
NWT has invested in both local and international network infrastructure, and claims bilateral partnerships with up to 180 global incumbents and major carriers. It has facility-based licenses and Point-of-Presence facilities and branch offices in China, the USA, the UK and Singapore. NWT also owns two international gateways and the backhaul network to major cable stations and landing points in Hong Kong. Two of these cable landing points connect directly with the Mainland China carriers, while the others connect to the Asia Pacific region and the world.
To support growth in international business, NWT has capacity on Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN 2), Japan-US (J-US), Pacific Crossing (PC-1), East Asia Crossing (EAC), FLAG Northern Loop (FNAL), and Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) capacity on APCN, China-US, TPC5, Sea-Me-We3 (SMW-3).
