New World Order is a Megadeth song written by the classic Megadeth line-up, Mustaine, Friedman, Ellefson, and Menza for the Youthanasia Album. It is about the New World Order Conspiracy, which is a conspiracy by a select few elite rich people that have power over the governments and systems of the world who are trying to create a world nation of one government to control the masses. Dave Mustaine, known for his political views with music, created this song to warn people of a New World Order, that would come in stages and slowly take over. In the same way conspiracy theorists today discuss the New World Order, the song is interpreted as a new system that the people themselves would desire and demand.
The song features 4 solos, two by Dave Mustaine, and two by Marty Friedman. It has a typical Megadeth thrash metal theme, beat, and powerful riffs. Among Megadeth fans, the song is not popular because a small percentage of fans have heard about it as it had not come with the standard Youthanasia album, but it was added as a remastered bonus track in 2004. A demo of it also appeared on the Duke Nukem - Music to Score By compilation album.
