The New Walk Museum and Art Gallery is a museum on New Walk in Leicester, England, not far from the city centre.[1] Two dinosaur skeletons are permanently installed in the museum — a cetiosaur found in Rutland, and a plesiosaur from Barrow upon Soar.[1] The Museum is running a 2007 exhibition on the late, local playwright, Joe Orton to mark the forty years since his death. Orton was born and raised on the Saffron Estate in Leicester.

From the 16th of June until the 28 October 2008, the museum is exhibiting the Attenborough Collection, this collection consists of ovewr 140 ceramics created by Picasso in Madoura from 1947 to his death in 1973. The collection was built up over the last 50 years (as of September 2007) by Lord and Lady Attenborough[2], who first became aware of Picasso's ceramics when they visited Madoura and were thrilled to find relatively cheap works by Picasso, returning frequently thereafter to add to their collection.[2]
