[edit] History
Established in 1965, New Town Primary School had both Chinese-medium and English-medium classes. Most of the pupils came from the surrounding Housing and Development Board (HDB) public housing estates.
In 1993, New Town Primary took over the former Permaisura Primary School building when the latter closed down in 1993. It also absorbed the pupils of Permaisura and Farrer Primary Schools in 1993 when both these schools closed down.
