New Rock is a Spanish shoe and clothing company that make several types of biker/goth style boots, shoes and clothes (though they do have some designs that might not be considered gothic). New Rock boots have undergone a recent explosion in popularity in the UK (though they have not yet infiltrated the mainstream), but apparently they aren't as common in the US. Because of their popularity some people don't consider them 'unique' enough, or avoid them because they don't want to be seen as following a trend.[citation needed]
New Rock also sell a line of clothes, most of which are made of leather. These are not so widely available as their footwear line, but can be purchased from the New Rock internet store and the New Rock store in Camden. Most of their clothes are made to fit in with a style of boot, for example there is a leather jacket and pair of leather trousers available with flames up the side, which is a style shared by some of New Rock's boots[1].

[edit] Popular Culture
Due to the unusual design throughout the range of New Rock shoes, including extremely thick rubber soles, metal spikes, skull adorned buckles and flames, the brand is widely associated with the goth[2][3] and punk subcultures. The boots are also widely stocked by retailers of fetish clothing and accessories.
- New Rocks found a minor form of popular acclaim in the first episode of the third series of Doctor Who in the form of the footwear worn by the Judoon.
- The strong and rebellious female character Yelena in the film xXx was introduced on screen for the first time, getting out of her car, the camera showing her Rock Boots first and then panning to the rest of her.[4]
- Nikki Sixx - bassist of Glam Metal band Motley Crue wears New Rock boots onstage, they are clearly visible on the bands DVD Carnival of Sins
- In Neil Strauss's best seller book The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists - The author makes multiple references that the New Rock Boots became a trend among Pick up artists as they were imitating their instructors.
[edit] Price
The boots themselves tend to be quite expensive, with a basic cost of around $220/£120. This varies in each store, and the cheapest places to get them are usually internet stores. The earlier New Rock designs are normally more expensive, especially if they have been discontinued but this is not in all cases.
[edit] Warranty
While it is commonly believed that their boots are covered by a lifetime warranty, according to New Rock this only applies to the metal trim. The company will send replacement trim pieces as needed at no charge. All other aspects of the boots enjoy some warranty coverage, although no period is specified; each warranty service request is considered individually, and wear and tear are taken into account.
The official online store mantains that the warranty period is one month only and charges even for replacement metal trim beyond this time period.
[edit] Quality
There has been debate about the quality of the product and whether the price is worth it, with some people saying the boots are badly made and fall apart easily, and others saying they are highly durable. The conflicting opinions could be caused by the different designs having different durability, or by people mistaking cheaply made knock-offs for the real thing, or quite simply by the care and use of the footwear.
[edit] Styles
There are several lines of New Rock products, including (but not limited to) 'Gothic' boots and shoes, motorcycle style boots, Western/Cowboy Boots, high-heeled boots, formal shoes and boots, and New Rock trainers.
Each style group has its own special name that New Rock have given to it, for example the high heels are in the 'Malicia' style, and the Gothic style boots are in the range 'Metallic Power'.
