New Polzeath
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New Polzeath is a small inhabited area along the North East side of Polzeath beach, map reference SW 935 794 . There is only one road in and out of New Polzeath, connecting with the Polzeath road near Porteath. This means that, although appearing to be contiguous with Polzeath, road access between the two locations means leaving the built-up area and travelling over 1 mile. The main part of New Polzeath is Atlantic Terrace, built in 1898[1] and most of the area behind has been developed after this date, although somewhat restricted as the National Trust own the land to the west and north.
New Polzeath has a set of steps that give access to Polzeath beach at low tide, and there is also access to Pentireglaze beach, or "Baby Bay" as it is known locally, by a steep footpath and via a longer vehicular track.
