New Life Fellowship
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[New Life Fellowship][1] began in the mid-sixties as a result of missionaries (Trevor and Isabel Paterson) from the New Life Churches of New Zealand who came to India out of a revival that swept their country. These missionaries left the country 14 years later, and during this time ordained Pastor S. Joseph. Under Pastor Joseph’s leadership the church was registered in 1968 and has grown today spreading to most of the states of India, Nepal, Bhutan and the Gulf countries.
For many years after the church was started, New Life Fellowship struggled in Bombay with one or two congregations until the frustrated leadership sought God in prayer and fasting in July 1980. During this time God gave Pastor Joseph the vision to reach one-tenth of the city of Bombay with the gospel. Operation Ten Million was launched to reach the then 10 million population of the city of Bombay. The church began to grow with successive churches being planted in the city of Bombay. The vision expanded to beyond Bombay and young couples were sent out of Bombay to reach other parts of the country. They also have churches in most parts of the country including Bangalore [2], New Delhi[3] and other cities.
