The New Jersey Storm were a member of the National Lacrosse League, based in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They played from 2002 to 2003. After the 2003, due to low attendance in New Jersey, the team relocated to Anaheim, California, becoming the Anaheim Storm. After the 2005 season, the Anaheim Storm folded due to low attendance. Professional Indoor NLL Lacrosse returned to the New York Metro area with the 2007 inaugural season of the New York Titans, who play at Madison Square Garden and Nassau Coliseum.
The franchise was owned by NBA star Jayson Williams.
He founded the franchise after attending a Philadelphia Wings game and thought he could bring that excitement to the Meadowlands.
