[edit] Route description
Route 62 begins at Route 46 in Totowa. It heads north on Union Boulavard, before intersecting Furler Street and Lackawanna Avenue. It expands to include 4 lanes, and ends at I-80 in Totowa.[2]
[edit] History
Before the 1953 renumbering, Route 62 was Route S6. This highway was not in the straight line diagrams of the New Jersey Department of Transportation in 2000; it resurfaced in 2001. It is much shorter than it used to be. The current section has always been state maintained. After the US 46 interchange Union Blvd. continues as CR 646 until it ends in Little Falls. The NJ Straight Line Diagrams show it as 646 after the I-80 interchange as well.[3]
