Route 32 is a state highway in New Jersey, United States. It is a short connector that extends 1.18 miles between U.S. Route 130 in South Brunswick Township and the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 8A in Monroe Township. The highway's eastern terminus is somewhat unclear. Signage suggests that 32 terminates after crossing the Turnpike overpass at its eastern end. Some maps suggest that Route 32 continues east as far as the traffic light for CR 619.[2] However, the New Jersey Department of Transportation straight-line diagram indicates that Route 32 terminates mid-way on the Turnpike overpass; this point is also where maintenance of Forsgate Drive changes from the state of New Jersey to Middlesex County.[1][3]
Due to heavy traffic on Route 32, the ramp from the Turnpike to Route 32 westbound was destroyed. In its place, a new, two-lane ramp to County Route 535 was built. Motorists must then take CR 535 south to access NJ 32 westbound.
Route 32 had been planned to be part of a new turnpike spur (numbered Route 92) terminating at U.S. Route 1 in South Brunswick Township, but these plans were cancelled by the Turnpike Authority on December 1, 2006.[4]

[edit] Route description
Route 32 begins at an interchange with U.S. Route 130 in South Brunswick Township.[1] The road goes straight to the west as Forsgate Road. The first intersection after 130 is for Herod Road and Commerce Drive. Route 32 continues through South Brunswick, meeting up with County Route 535 (Cranbury Road) at a traffic light. Route 32 then enters Monroe Township and goes under the 8A ramp and ends at the overpass for the turnpike. From there on, the road continues as Middlesex County Route 612.[1]
[edit] History
Route 32 was originally assigned in 1927 renumbering along the route of U.S. Route 202 from Bedminster to NJ 23 in Mountain View.[5] The routing changed in 1964, which was when Exit 8A on the New Jersey Turnpike opened. The road had no prior route numbers.[6] The Route 92 proposal was to use the span of Route 32 and end at Exit 8A of the Turnpike. The Route 92 proposal was dumped by the Turnpike Authority on December 1, 2006. Exit 8A had originally accessed Route 32, but that was changed due to heavy congestion to CR 535. Now, in order to access Route 32 from the Turnpike, motorists must use CR 535.
