[edit] Route Description

Route 13 begins at County Route 632 in Point Pleasant. It proceeds eastward, soon reaching a junction with Duff Place. It intersects Hollywood Boulevard shortly before crossing the Point Pleasant Canal. Shortly after, it reaches its end at County Route 632 in Bay Head.[2]

[edit] History

Route 13 was originally New Jersey Route 13E, because it was a takeover of Ocean County Route 13E. It was the fifth segment of County Route 13. In the 1953 renumbering, Route 13 was created.[3]

In 2005, the New Jersey Department of Transportation began construction to rehabilitate the Inland Waterway Canal Bride. The project cost was estimated at $2.4 million (2005 USD).[4]
