New Glasgow Junior High School, commonly known as NGJHS, is a Canadian junior high school located in the town of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. It serves students from its three feeder elementary schools, A.G. Baillie Memorial School, Temperance Street Elementary School, and Acadia Street Elementary School.
NGJHS is part of the Celtic Region of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board. The school's designated official colours are green and white. The school's curriculum covers general middle school subjects, Mathematics, English Language Arts, Core French, Immersion French, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Personal Development and Relationships, as well as three "elective" subjects that are each taken once per year by students (students rotate their elective each term), Technology Education, Family Studies Technology (Home Economics), and Music Education. There is also a Special Education program at NGJHS, provided to those with mental disabilities and learning disorders. As well, the school has an accomplished music program that is currently home to three bands (including one jazz band), two smaller jazz combos, and two choral groups. The school is also active in its athletics program, with many sports teams for hockey, soccer, volleyball, track and field, as well as others.
The school, once a high school, was changed into a middle school when North Nova Education Centre was opened in 2003. NGJHS now operates as one of several feeder schools for North Nova Education Centre, along with East Pictou Middle School, Trenton Middle School, and Thorburn Consolidated Middle School.
