New Farm Loch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large New Farm Loch estate to the North East of Kilmarnock was created in the 1970s by Scottish Special Housing to accommodate the growing population of Kilmarnock. Its name indicates an agricultural past and the loch, which was once popular as a curling rink has been long-since drained. The working class estate is a warren of streets, split by a central carriageway named Grassyards Road. One side of the road is known locally as 'The Courts' and is famous for its curious and erratic numbering system which is despised by confused Royal Mail postmen and women.{{Fact|date=October 2007}
