New England National Scenic Trail

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 2000, the United States Congress authorized the National Park Service to research a new National Scenic Trail now tentatively called the New England National Scenic Trail in southern New England, which would include three existing trails: the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail, the Mattabesett Trail and the Metacomet Trail. The route would extend from Guilford, Connecticut at Long Island Sound over the Metacomet Ridge, through the highlands of the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, to the summit of Mount Monadnock in southern New Hampshire.
