New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (Japanese: 新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構), also known as NEDO is an Independent Administrative Institution aiming for the protection of the environment policy and technology development. Its head office is located in Kawasaki, Kanagawa.

  • October 1, 1980 - While Japan had experienced energy crisis in 1973 and 1978, New Energy and Overall Development Organization was founded in order to improve and develop technologies to prevent this from happening again.
  • October 1, 1988 - New Energy and Overall Development Organization changed its name to the current one, adding industrial technology development to their purposes.
  • 2005 - NEDO pavilion was developed at Expo 2005, allowing all ages to enjoy their inventions.
