New Caney High School is a public secondary school in New Caney, an unincorporated section of Montgomery County, Texas.

New Caney High School is part of the New Caney Independent School District. NCHS serves the cities of Roman Forest and Woodbranch and the minuscule Montgomery County portion of Houston (near Kingwood). NCISD also serves the unincorporated communities of New Caney, Porter Heights, Oakhurst at Kingwood, and Kings Manor.

NCHS is currently a 4A school with a student body of 2000+. It has two campuses: a main campus serving grades 10 through 12 and a ninth grade annex on the same property. The school has been credited for its Academic Decathlon program, Basketball team, JROTC, and band.

In 2007 Johns Hopkins University referred to New Caney as a "dropout factory" [1]. In 2008 the UIL named New Caney from District 21 4A to District 14 5A.

  • Thomas Lowe - Great-Great Granfather of Thomas Lowe, current varsity tennis coach at New Caney.
  • Ryan Thompson - Most noted for his alias "Dupindi" on Halo 2.
