New Brunswick Route 776

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Route 776 is the provincial highway that serves as the main road on the island municipality of Grand Manan, New Brunswick. It follows the entire eastern coast of the island for its entire length. It is 40 km long.

Route 776 starts just a few metres from the ferry, at the top of Ferry Wharf Road in the village of North Head. After North Head, the villages are (in order) Castalia, Woodwards Cove, Grand Harbour, Seal Cove, and finally Deep Cove, where the route ends at Southwest Light, amongst 300-foot high cliffs. The village of Ingalls Head is the only one on the island not having direct access to Route 776 (one must drive down Ingalls Head Road in Grand Harbour to access this village), as well as the offshore inhabited island of White Head Island.

Route 776 has no colloquial names, and islanders refer to it by its official name, or the "main road". There are no other provincial highways on Grand Manan.
