New Brampton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is a suburb of Chesterfield, a town in Derbyshire. Mostly located along the Chatsworth Road, Old Road and Baslow Road, the A619.

The suburb grew, out of the expansion of Chesterfield, during the Nineteenth century, through a combination of industrial development, and as far back as the Nineteenth century, tourism. This is thanks to the fact the A619, takes you out into the Peak District, with nearby Baslow, and the Beeley Moor, as well as Holymoorside, not to mention Chatsworth House.

The Consiquence is that New Brampton, is home to numerous rows of Terrace houses, towards Chesterfield town centre, and out towards the Peak District, there is a combination of businesses, accommodating both, locals and tourists, as well as a couple of Hotels, and some Bed and Breakfasts. The area is also a popular suburb, with many, late-Nineteenth Century and Early to mid-Twentieth Century Houses.

Even today New Brampton, is a busy route into the Peak District.

The Suburb takes its name from, Old Brampton, which is further along the A619, towards the Peak District, about 2 miles away.
