I believe this image of a Coat of Arms qualifies for Fair Use if it is used to represent the institution to which it belongs (New College, Oxford) and to illustrate its historic Coat of Arms. Copyright in this specific representation resides in the College. --Ed hazell 23:07, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

The image linked here is claimed to be used under fair use because:

1. it is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
2. it is only being used as an illustration of the symbol in question.
3. it is used on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation.
