IMDb profile

Howling: New Moon Rising (also known as Howling VII: Mystery Woman) is a 1995 direct-to-video horror film, starring and directed by Clive Turner. It is the sixth and most recent sequel to the 1981 cult classic The Howling, directly succeeding Howling VI: The Freaks. Response to this film has been overwhelmingly bad, and the film occasionally been seen on the IMDb's Bottom 100 list, where it currently has a score of 1.5. The biggest criticism of the film is that there are hardly any werewolves to be seen, while other scenes were taken straight from Howling V: The Rebirth. The "actors" are just simply locals living in the small desert town where this was filmed, basically playing themselves sitting around telling jokes and drinking beer. The underwhelming response to this straight to video release has since ended The Howling film series. This is the only film of the series that has yet to receive a region 1 dvd release; it has been issued on disc elsewhere, with one dvd release under an alternate title, "Howling 7: Mystery Woman".

[edit] Additional Info

Ted, Marie Adams, and Marylou Summers are the only three characters to appear in more than one Howling movie.
