[edit] Titanic edits
Hi, I was wondering if you can cite your sources for the detailed additions in RMS Titanic about how the Titanic was damaged and how the ship's design helped cause the ship's to break apart. Thanks MechBrowman 18:03, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- I've simply translated it from the german wiki-article. The leaks are described in great detail, also the construction of the compartements. I'll enter some more details once I' ve got the time. BTW the combined size of the leaks was only 1,18 m², if you can calculate the correct imperial measurements (I would estimate ~ 1888 square inches, but I'm not sure), it would be an interesting number, as it is awfully small. [edit] Convoy SC-7
I noticed your edit to convoy SC 7;
It’s OK, but that wasn’t the only, or even the main, reason why the escort was ineffective (see Conclusion).
Attacking from within a convoy was a high-risk tactic, and it was a minority of U-boat commanders who tried it ( though Kretschmer was one of them, and he did so on this occasion).
