[edit] History
MaltaProducts has embarked on an innovative initiative to promote Maltese products internationally through a user friendly online environment.
The project reached its first milestone on the 20th of November 2006, with the launch of the website www.maltaproducts.com.
[edit] Brief details
The prime aim of this website is to promote products produced and manufactured in Malta and Gozo.
MaltaProducts.com supports local culture and traditions. It provides local craftsmen with the possibility to expose their marvellous work on the Internet. Maltese nationals living abroad can rekindle Malta's traditions. Tourists can savour Malta's specialities from the comfort of their homes long after their holiday is over. The list of products included in the website varies from wine and liqueur to the finest traditional gourmet such as honey rings, nougat and the famous goat cheese (Gbejniet tal-bzar). The website also contains various souvenirs, collectibles and a vast range of craft works namely bizzilla, ganutell and filigree.
[edit] Recognition
MaltaProducts.com is the only website listed and registered as an entrepreneur with the Malta Crafts Council. This recognition expresses the project’s commitment towards the local craftsmanship.
The website is also supported by local artists and craftsmen.
[edit] Future Milestone
Continue working to make Maltese traditions popular again. Help give a taste of Malta to outsiders.
