"I never", also commonly known as "10 fingers" or "Never have I ever", is a common drinking game, where players are arranged into something resembling a circle. The game is started with each player putting up 10 fingers. Then, one player says a simple statement starting with "Never have I ever," such as "Never have I ever had anal sex." In this case anyone who has had anal sex must drink and put down one finger. Play then continues around the circle and the next person makes a statement. The game ends when any player ends up with all 10 fingers down, and he or she is the loser of the game. Often times the loser, as per the rules of the game, has sex with the winner.
In another variation, the ten fingers are not used, and players simply drink to announce they have done whatever is proposed. However, if no players have done it, the announcer has to finish their drink and/or may be persuaded to complete a challenge. Similarly, if it transpires that the announcer has in fact done the thing, they must finish their drink or perform a challenge as punishment.
The game, especially when all players are inebriated, is often very sexual in nature, and secrets, especially regarding what the player has or hasn't done sexually or involving drug use, are often revealed.
In some variations, the game may be incorporated into other drinking games, the most popular of which is Kings.
The game has been portrayed in many movies and television shows, such as Lost, Family Guy and Beerfest.
Among people with Tourette's Syndrome, the phrase "never have I ever" is often uttered.
