"Never Give Up On The Good Times" was set to be a single from the Spice Girls' second album Spiceworld, as a Double A-Side Single with "Viva Forever". However, it's speculated that when Geri Halliwell left the group in 1998, the group's plans were thrown into disarray, and they were forced to cancel "Never Give Up On The Good Times". Other rumoured reasons for this cancellation was lack of time for a video (as they were on their world tour), there was no time to re-record Halliwell's vocals. Instead, "Viva Forever" was released alone, and became the Spice Girls' seventh UK number 1 single. The lyrics are widely rumoured to have been penned by Victoria Beckham and Melanie C, although Geri Halliwell is seen heavily editing them during a group writing session on documentary footage.
David Morales is said to have been commissioned to make remixes of "Never Give Up", none so far have surfaced.
When Geri Halliwell left the group in 1998, all her vocals on the track when performed live were taken over by Victoria Beckham.
