Nevenka Tadić

Nevenka Tadić (Serbian Cyrillic: Невенка Тадић) (born 1926 in Bijeljina, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a Serbian psychiatrist most noted for her work in the psychoanalysis of children.

She was born Nevenka Kićanović (Невенка Кићановић) and her father, Strahinja Kićanović, was killed in 1942 by the Ustashas in the Second World War genocide. After the war, she got her medical degree from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Medicine. She specialized neuropsychiatry in Sarajevo, where she has worked from 1954 to 1962. In 1957, she went to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris for further education. There, she worked alongside some of the most notable French psychoanalysts such as Serge Lebovici and René Diatkin. Afterwards, she has worked in Belgrade in the Mental Health Institute and, as a professor, on the Faculty of Defectology. She is an author of numerous books and articles, mainly related to the psychotherapy of children.

Nevenka Tadić is married to Serbian philosopher Ljubomir Tadić, with whom she has two children. Her son, Boris Tadić, is the current president of Serbia and the leader of Democratic Party.
