Nevena Karanović

Dr Nevena Karanović (Serbian Cyrillic: Невена Карановић) was born in Niš in 1961. Current State secretary in the Ministry of Health of Serbia. She worked as a cardiologist in the Clinic of Cardiovascular Diseases, Clinical Center of Niš from 1988 to 2004, when she became a member of the Parliament of Serbia. She has master's degree (1998) and PhD in cardiology (2001) from the University of Niš. She was Assistant minister in the Ministry of Health from March to October, 2004. She was one of the founders of the G17 Plus Party (2002), and was member of its Presidency (2004-2006). She speaks English and French. Karanović is married, and has two daughters.
