Neve Sha'anan (Tel Aviv)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Neve Sha'anan (Hebrew: נווה שאנן) is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Tel Aviv, Israel.
It is also a major transportation hub, containing both the new and old Tel Aviv Central Bus Stations. Many parking lots and car rental shops exist in Neve Sha'anan to complement this.
Neve Sha'anan is also Tel Aviv's red-light district, with numerous brothels.
Many foreign workers live or look for work in Neve Sha'anan, seen by the unusual public phones on Neve Sha'anan Street, advertising cheap calls to countries such as China, Russia and Ukraine.
The neighborhood has been the site of four suicide bombing attacks in 2002 [1] and 2006 [2].
[edit] Neve Sha'anan Street
Neve Sha'anan Street is a promenade connecting the new and old Tel Aviv Central Bus Stations.
In the foreign media, Neve Sha'anan Street is often confused with the nearby Yesod HaMa'ala Street.
