State Route 612 is a major north-south section line arterial in the eastern Las Vegas valley. It comprises about 9.4 miles of Nellis Boulevard[1].
[edit] Route description
State Route 612 has a southern terminus at Tropicana Avenue (SR 593). It follows Nellis Boulevard north through the Las Vegas area before reaching its terminus at Las Vegas Boulevard (SR 604) near Nellis Air Force Base.
The state has plans to abandon this road from the state highway system.
[edit] History
The highway, originally a four-lane highway with a center lane, was reconstructed from 1982 to 1985 under the direction of NDOT Commissioner Scott Robertson. The road was named after Ken Nellis and there is soon to be a public library dedicated to Ken Nellis in Las Vegas.
