Nevada Public Radio

Nevada Public Radio was founded in 1980 as a public corporation to operate publicly funded radio in Nevada. NPR operates 5 stations in Nevada, 1 station in Utah and 5 retransmitters.

From 1980 to 1999, the studios for NPR were in space donated by Sam Boyd in Sam's Town Casino.

KCNV signed on for the first time in 2003.

KNPR (FM) goes on the air.

On November 1, 2005, KSGU-FM 90.3, the sixth station in the Nevada Public Radio family began broadcasting.
