The Nevada Museum of Art, located at 160 West Liberty Street in Reno, Nevada, is the only American Association of Museums (AAM) accredited art museum in the state of Nevada. The museum is thematic, focusing on the growing interest in the protection of the land. The Museum moved into a larger, four-story structure in 2003, designed by architect Will Bruder.

ABOUT THE NMA Designed by architect Will Bruder, the Donald W. Reynolds Center for the Visual Arts became the new facility for the Nevada Museum of Art in May of 2003. With its torqued exterior wall, suspended atrium staircase and views of Reno’s skyline as well as the Sierra Nevada mountain range, the building is recognized as one of the most distinguished architectural achievements in Nevada. The NMA’s feature exhibitions showcase national and international artists while the permanent collection of twentieth and twenty-first century art is divided into five focus collections linked by an overall emphasis on land and environment. This thematic focus provides scope and direction for future acquisitions and exhibitions.

The Museum participates in the Scholastic Art Awards program by providing secondary school students from northern Nevada a place to exhibit their works. A Museum school provides various art classes to help develop art related skills for artists and teachers.
