Please see Talk:Orca/Should_the_page_be_at_Orca_or_Killer_Whale for why I am reverting your changes of Orca to Killer Whale. It is very very bad form to make major changes like that for a topic previously discussed a resolution decided upon. If you want to change an agreement, you must bring it up on appropriate talk pages. Pcb21| Pete 06:56, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Oops, I think I made a bit of a cock-up there! Many, many apologies. Pcb21| Pete 07:08, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I think I have now rolled back my roll back to capture your changes. Unfortunately there are now a few "orca" that need to be changed to "Orca" - I'll do that later. Also we need to talk about the Orca article itself at Talk:Orca. You've three times made a change saying "npov" - but I think you are wrong and that your change is leaving a distorted view of what is actually a fairly complex situation. Pcb21| Pete 07:15, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hi there. I just moved the last 2 entries you put on Wikipedia:Press coverage to Wikipedia:Wikipedia as a press source as they're using Wikipedia as a source for their stories, rather than actually about Wikipedia. -- Arwel 12:34, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Also, please do not remove the wikification from dates. Dates should always be wikified to allow people to view them according to their user preferences. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#Dates. --Michael Snow 16:46, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] I support.
Good luck! Not sure why people are opposing you... seems a bit silly to me. - Ta bu shi da yu 00:28, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship
You've worked hard to earn it - Tεxτurε 02:56, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] old subpage
can this be deleted or blanked now? i think it's just leftover stuff, but it still shows up in google. Wolfman 03:49, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] AD vs. CE
The author of Wikipedia:Today's_featured_article/October_12,_2004 has chosen to use AD for "Anno Domini" instead of the neologism "CE" for "Christian Era". Please do not change authors' style without sufficient reason.

[edit] Revets
Please try not to be so quick to act or revert without making sure it's the proper thing to do (e.g. [1]). Such actions make it difficult for me to support your nomination for access to administrator powers and make me question your judgement.
In fairness, I too am generally annoyed by anonymous comments, especially when they seem to come from regular users who have opted to log out to conceal their identities (BTW, that comment was not from me, though I realize it may seem like it was). I also realize that people make mistakes. But it seems that your willingness to act rashly is the main source of legitimate opposition to your nomination (and others' conflicts with you), something I've mentioned before.
Acegikmo1 23:02, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. I would like the comment to stay. I feel that (especially in an RFA) preserving the record is vital, even (especially?) in cases of borderline personal attack. You action in this case does concern me, but I don't intend to oppose your nomination. I thought you'd make a good administrator the first time you were nominated and I still think so. Please just try to explain yourself better (e.g. use the talk page first, provide a detailed edit summary, look for other options) before making potentially controversial edits.
- Thanks,
- Acegikmo1 23:17, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] My nomination for adminship
Thank you for supporting my nomination for adminship. I will do my best to serve Wikipedia. --Slowking Man 00:06, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Map of Australia
Hi Neutrality, I notice you changed my map of Australia at Image:Australia map.png to a CIA map. This wouldn't be a problem, but my comments on the image page itself, as well as at User:Chuq/Maps/Australia, are now out of context. Not to mention the CIA map doesn't have state borders and other such things that are mentioned in the image description. The CIA map is available at Image:Austmap.png.
Attempting to view my old version of the map doesn't seem to work - I can re-upload it when I get home, so it's not a problem. The map is part of a larger project to make more customisable maps of Australia. -- Chuq 00:20, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- No worries then :) -- Chuq 00:24, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship
Why did you remove the adminship nom? I was going to promote you. →Raul654 02:52, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
Hi Neutrality, I was about to commend you for removing your nomination. I felt sure that if you addressed the remaining concerns, you would make it next time. I don't question Raul654's good intentions in offering you promotion, but I feel it be very bad timing considering the previous disputed promotion by a different bureaucrat who had only three prior promotions. I won't be the one to start the complaint, if there is any, but I don't know if we should have more bad feeling here--you're so close. -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 03:07, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Well, could luck, then. I didn't have any fear that your being an admin would bring the Walls of Wikipedia tumblin' down (would that we had that power). -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 03:52, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship 2
Congratulations on your promotion to admin. Please read the relavant pages before using your new permissions. And again, congratulations. →Raul654 04:18, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Lack of votes
There seems to have been a mistake. You failed to receive an adequate amount of votes for adminship. --- Xed 11:18, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Congratulations!
Hey, you're a sysop. Congrats! It was a tough ride, but you got here. I hope you find the janitorial keys useful as you improve Wikipedia. I have full faith you'll use them wisely, and show the criticisms of you to be unfounded. – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 13:06, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
Yes, congratulations! Jayjg 18:54, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Be Bold page renamed
Where was the discussion about renaming this page from Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages to Wikipedia:Be bold ? -- Netoholic @ 20:06, 2004 Oct 13 (UTC)
Checking the Whatlinkshere shows a lot of user talk pages referencing that... what you didn't consider was "why?". The Be bold link is/was used in a lot of new user Welcome messages. Move it back, and this time fix all the redirects. -- Netoholic @ 20:18, 2004 Oct 13 (UTC)
[edit] Mongolia
As the text says, "The country list will change every few months". Not after less than a week. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Countering_systemic_bias/Archive_1#Suggested direction for details on how this list was created. Xed 22:06, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] United States Supreme Court Case Article Improvement Project
Thanks for signing on to the Project! It can definitely use some great contributors, which as I can see from your contributions, you are. Also, when I get formally rejected for adminship, it will be good to have another admin active with the Project to hopefully keep an eye on the vandalism.
Thanks again and I look forward to any contributions you have the time and/or energy to make!
