Hi. I'm the administrator of UMassWiki, a wiki for the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I also run another wiki for two DOC BBSes, and I use wikis daily in my personal, academic and professional life.

[edit] MediaWiki contributions
In running a well-publicized wiki, I've made some contributions to the MediaWiki universe.
[edit] Articles
[edit] Code
[edit] Wikipedia pages I've created
[edit] Astronomy and the Universe
- Barred spiral galaxy, a type of spiral galaxy. Our own Milky Way may be a barred spiral galaxy. This article was linked to from the front page of Slashdot on August 17, 2005, leading to a number of great improvements over my original.
- Omega Centauri, the Milky Way's most massive globular cluster
- Mu Arae, a star similar to the Sun with three orbiting planets, one of which may be rocky
[edit] Drugs and Medical
- Athlete's foot, a fungal infection of the skin
- Miconazole, a topical antifungal drug used to treat Athlete's foot
[edit] Miscellaneous Science and Natural Phenomena
- Sun Pillar, my first ever edit, now a redirect to Halo (optical phenomenon)
[edit] Pages to which I've made significant edits
[edit] Astronomy and the Universe
- Canis Major (dwarf galaxy), a page into which I merged a misnamed page and added significant information.
- Hoag's object, an unusual specimen of ring galaxy. I added signficant information from a paper on its structure and evolution.
- M104, aka the Sombrero Galaxy. I replaced a nonfree image with a free one and added information. Later users subsequently uploaded better versions of the free image I had uploaded, and on January 1, 2005 it was Wikipedia:Picture of the day.
[edit] Miscellaneous Science and Natural Phenomena
- Halo (optical phenomenon). I contributed three public domain images to pages that were eventually all folded into this one. The image shown is now a featured picture. It has been Wikipedia:Picture of the day on 15 October 2004 and 28 January 2005.
[edit] Pages to which I've made minor nontrivial changes
- Spiral arm, the "arm" of a spiral galaxy
- Sun dog, a type of halo (optical phenomenon)
