[edit] Merge with Thalidomide?
I think it should be merged, and this page should become a redirect. --Portnadler 17:30, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
I disagree. The Neurosedyn scandal is a well-known tragedy in Sweden and in my opionion worthy of its own entry, separated from that of the active substanse Thalidomide. Perhaps the article should be renamed to "The Neurosedyn scandal" or otherwise. I contemplated this when I originally created it... Zelda 22:45, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Basically, the substance is the same, no matter what you call it. Try looking up Contergan (the German name), and you get redirected to Thalidomide. The Contergan scandal in Germany was exactly analogous to the Neurosedyn scandal in Sweden. We are not being consistent if we have a separate page for Neurosedyn. --Portnadler 16:00, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
I think a link connecting the two, and maybe a few sentences on the Thalidomide page, would be perfectly sufficient. I do, however, agree that the article should be titled The Neurosedyn Scandal, since that was a specific incident. -JRM
I agree with the others there is no reason for this to exist as a seperate entry. The Swedish victimms were only abou 0.1% of the total. It may be true that it was "well-known tragedy in Sweden" but that would only justify it having it's own entry in the Swedish edition if there. Using the same logic seperate enteries could be made for each country the drug was sold in.Lenbrazil 16:34, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
I agree it should be merged. If the extent of the tragedy differs in different countries, there could be a paragraph on that but it is the same drug and the same tragedy. // Habj 06:29, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Agree on merging --WS 01:35, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Based upon the comments here, I am going to merge the articles. If nothing else, Neurosedyn is the drug name, and this article is mostly a description of the tragedy that occured due to the use. I am going to integrate the compensation section into the tragedy parts. -- Irixman (t) (m) 14:39, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
