Talk:Neuropa

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Was this term in general (or even limited) use, or is it specifically a term DuBois coined for his own analysis? The intro makes it sound vaguely like it was a term in use at one time, but the further explanation makes it sound like DuBois coined it and was the only person to ever really use it. --Delirium 21:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article rewritten

The article started off by implying that the term was official Nazi terminology, wheras in reality it was not used at all. I can't find any reference online, to its use in Nazi Germany. On the other hand, there are thousands of hits for the term, because it is a catchy play on words in several languages. Suggesting that its use always implies Nazism and Nazi plans is a sort of conspiracy theory. At the talk page for €uroMayDay the 'Nazi' implications seem to have run away with the discussion.

For the Nazi plans for Europe, see the German Wikipedia article Nationalsozialistische Europapläne, the equivalent English-language article has stiil not been written.Paul111 21:01, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] References to Nazi use of Neuropa

... and I could go on ...

and bearing in mind that there also pages like Neuropa (sorry i can't read the page ) I feel the argument that the term was "The term was never used in Nazi Germany." Is unsupportable. The fact that it has bben used in various Danish and Norwegian texts, and in the absence of any translation of Dubois' text into those languages, would seem to indicate that this is unlikely. However this does fall short of a direct citation from the 40's. Hence the edit,Harrypotter 21:02, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
