Neuraxial blockade

Neuraxial anesthesia pertains to local anesthetics placed around the nerves of the central nervous system, such as spinal anesthesia also called subarachnoid anesthesia and epidural anesthesia.

Complications

From opiates: cause pruritis, respiratory depression and sedation.

Mechanical: Nerve injury - Directly, Haematoma, Abcess
