Talk:Netzarim (disambiguation)

Dear 203.240.170.88, you've done a lot of hard work, but it is very much POV-informed and basically duplicates what is stated on Nazarene Judaism. This page should remain a redirect rather than giving an exceptional amount of detail on a small group. Btw I'm not sure the "implicit" approval of the Israeli chief rabbinate should be referred to as "within the Beth Din framework". JFW | T@lk 12:57, 12 May 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Passer by angry about POV in this entry
In reference to people the term netzarim is traditionally only used to refer to the royal house of David Ha Melech. An infrequent (and probably mistaken or allegorical) secondary use is in association with the nistarim (hidden Tzadikim). Hillel and the bulk of Beth Hillel, Rabban Gamliel, Rabbi Yehuda Hanasi, Yochanan Hasandler, Rashi, the Rambam, Yosef Karo, the Baal Shem Tov, the Breslevor Rebbe and the first Lubavicher Rebbe, Shneur Zalman of Liadi, may all be accurately termed Netzarim. The term has no kind of connection whatsoever to do with any so-called "Nazerene" cult and its use by such people is Ludicrous. No group of people have the right to just call themselves netzarim without being Halakhically Jewish and physical (genetic) descendants of David HaMelech. Then the page links directly to info about this man http://www.netzarim.co.il/ConvCtr/2005.08.08-Miryam-ha-Migdalit.htm who at the bottom of that page claims ever so slyly and sneakily to be a neitzer of the house of Jesse. It makes me sick! How can such batent POV be allowed? I know my stance is also POV, but it is useful to highlight the current POV by standing in stark contrast. Aren't encyclopedias supposed to help preserve the accurate traditional use of terms rather than simply go with the most trendy uses?
