Nesa, Iran

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nesa was an ancient Persian city during the Parthian period. It was one of the important cities of the Arsacid dynasty. It is now in Turkmenistan. Arsaces I of Parthia was crowned in this city in about 250 BC.

The name of this city changed after Mithridates I of Parthia to Mehrdad-Kart (in Persian:مهردادکرت ), but archaeologists call it Nesa.
