Nes, Vest-Agder

Nes is a former municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway.
It was created by the split of Nes og Hitterø municipality into Nes and Hitterø on 8 October 1893. At that time Nes had a population of 1,704. In 1942 a part of Nes with 377 inhabitants was moved to the neighboring municipality Flekkefjord.
On 1 January 1965 the rest of Nes, as well as Hidra, Bakke and Gyland, became incorporated into Flekkefjord. Prior to the merger Nes had a population of 2,757.
