Hello, welcome to Wikipedia.

Here are some tasks you can do:

You might find these links helpful in creating new pages or helping with the above tasks: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.

[edit] Interested in an L.A.-area Wiki meetup?

It appears as though L.A. has never had a Wiki meetup. Would you be interested in attending such an event? If so, checkout User:Eric Shalov/Wikimeetup.

[edit] Image needs attention

Your Image:Screenshotkaramba.jpeg is to be deleted within 7 days if you do not provide the Source, and Copyright of this image.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Screenshotkaramba.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Screenshotkaramba.jpeg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. --Scott Grayban 19:21, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:StreetfighterUbuntu.jpg)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:StreetfighterUbuntu.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --elias.hc 16:37, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Turkish cross-links

I noticed that you were recently asking an admin to add a cross-link to a Turkish article. Normally, you should be able to do this yourself (unless the article is fully protected). Just hit edit and scroll down the the very bottom and insert your link in the alphabetically appropriate place. Canadiana 21:52, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

By the discussion, I was under the impression that it was actually only semi-protected at the time, so that's why I made the comment. Canadiana 22:26, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Youtube engel.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Youtube engel.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. KonstableSock 09:36, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:MainpageSSnerval.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:MainpageSSnerval.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MER-C 12:18, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Turkish Football Articles

Hey, I've seen your countrubutions on Galatasaray and Hasan Kabze. I thought you support Galatasaray and may improve the article. I think our big three teams (gs,fb,bjk) must be Wikipedia:Featured articles or Wikipedia:Good articles, so I'm thinking of nominating them... To be more clear, I'm going to nominate Galatasaray S.K. for GA soon, what do you think about this? Can we win the  ? --Alex20fb (talk) 02:19, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
